About Hastings McIver, M.Ed.

A thoughtful educator in your corner.

I help students make sense of challenging ideas, develop trust in their own thinking and become more capable, independent learners.

01

Teaching with clarity and care

Good teaching starts with close attention: to what a student already understands, where the confusion begins and what helps a new idea click. I combine clear explanation with purposeful questions so students do more than arrive at the right answer—they understand how they got there.

That balance of structure, challenge and encouragement is at the heart of every McIver Teaching lesson.

02

International education experience

As a former teacher at Dresden International School, I understand the demands of international curricula and the particular pressures students can face when learning across languages, school systems and cultures.

My work is especially well suited to internationally minded families looking for consistent, personal support in English.

03

More than this week’s homework

The immediate task matters, but so do the habits behind it. Lessons are designed to strengthen subject knowledge while developing communication, problem-solving, organisation and reflection—the skills that make future learning easier.
